Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to the UAE, declared the opening of a new Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) office in Dubai, affirming India’s commitment to providing quality education in the region. Speaking at the ‘Ahlan Modi’ diaspora event in Abu Dhabi, PM Modi underscored the significance of educational initiatives, highlighting the enrollment of over 1.5 lakh Indian students in UAE schools. He emphasized the importance of institutions like the CBSE office and the recent launch of a master’s course at IIT Delhi’s Abu Dhabi campus in offering exemplary educational opportunities to the Indian community.
PM Modi also lauded the cultural ties between India and the UAE, noting the linguistic affinity and mutual achievements that serve as a model for the world. Reflecting on his previous visits, he reminisced about the warm reception he received, emphasizing the strong bond between the two nations.
Furthermore, PM Modi highlighted India’s global recognition in various domains, including infrastructure, tourism, and sports. He mentioned India’s digital revolution and efforts to extend its benefits to the UAE through initiatives like RuPay card packs and the upcoming implementation of UPI for seamless transactions between the two countries.
Asserting India’s growing influence on the world stage, PM Modi described India as a ‘Vishwa Bandhu,’ a global friend, known for its prompt assistance during crises.
The event, attended by a large number of Indian expatriates, showcased the strong ties between the two nations. Bilateral meetings between PM Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan resulted in the exchange of multiple memoranda of understanding, further enhancing cooperation between India and the UAE.
The visit also marked the inauguration of the first Hindu temple, BAPS Mandir, in Abu Dhabi, symbolizing the cultural richness and diversity shared between the two countries.
