A 13-year-old Indian-American student, Natasha Perianayagam, has once again been named among the “world’s brightest” by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY). This recognition is based on the results of above-grade-level tests of over 15,000 students from 76 countries.
Natasha, who attends Florence M Gaudineer Middle School in New Jersey, excelled on the SAT, ACT, and School and College Ability Test. She demonstrated her exceptional ability in verbal and quantitative sections of the Johns Hopkins Talent Search test in 2021. Her grades in this test reached the 90th percentile of advanced grade 8 performance.
Natasha was among the 15,300 students from 76 countries who participated in the CTY Talent Search during the 2021-22 academic year. CTY’s executive director, Dr. Amy Shelton, commented on the recognition of Natasha and other students, saying that it’s not just a tribute to their success in one test but a salute to their love of learning and the knowledge they’ve accumulated so far.
