Emma Stone (1988-)

Emily Jean Stone is a popular Oscar-winning American actress. Known as one of the most skilled and successful actresses of the contemporary generation, she reached the peak of her career after the success of her 2016 film ‘La La Land’ in which she played a lead role. She made her acting debut at the age of 11 in a play ‘The Wind in the Willows’. She made her TV debut in 2004 in ‘The New Partridge Family’, where she played a minor role. She appeared in minor roles in other TV shows throughout the next few years. She made her film debut three years later, in the American teen comedy ‘Superbad’, where she played a supporting role. Her performance earned her a ‘Young Hollywood Award’.

Thandie Newton (1972-)

Thandie Newton is a well-known English television and film actress. She has played several roles representing the downtrodden black community in Europe and America. She is best known for her role as a faithful house slave in the movie ‘Interview with the Vampire.’ She is also known for her role in the movie ‘Beloved’ in which she played the ghost of a young slave girl who is killed by her mother to save her from slavery. She has appeared in the television film ‘In Your Dreams’ and in the medical drama series ‘ER’ that were aired during prime time. While she received a couple of awards for the science fiction series ‘Westworld,’ she won the ‘BAFTA Award’ for ‘Best Actress in a Supporting Role’ for the movie ‘Crash.’

Ethan Hawke (1970-)

Ethan Green Hawke is an American actor, screenwriter, and director. This versatile actor has been nominated for the ‘Academy Award,’ both as an actor and writer. He has also received a ‘Tony Award’ nomination for his theater work.  He was cast in director Peter Weir’s ‘Dead Poets Society’ and the film’s success gave him the much needed breakthrough. In the following years, he acted in movies like ‘A Midnight Clear,’ ‘Alive,’ ‘Reality Bites,’ ‘Gattaca,’ ‘The Newton Boys,’ and ‘Great Expectations.’ In addition, he also directed the movie ‘Chelsea Walls.’ He was nominated for ‘Academy Awards’ under ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for his performance in ‘Training Day’ and ‘Boyhood.’

Maria Shriver (1955-)

Maria Shriver is a famous American journalist and activist known for her long association with NBC. She was also the First Lady of California for seven years as the then-wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger, former governor of California. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Shriver is the daughter of American diplomat Sargent Shriver and niece of former US President John F. Kennedy. She began her career as a journalist after graduating from the ‘Georgetown University’ in Washington. While working as a journalist, she wrote a book titled ‘Ten Things I Wish I’d Known Before I Went Out Into The Real World.’ She was also a co-anchor for NBC’s coverage of the 1988 Summer Olympics, which won an ‘Emmy Award.’

Glenn Frey (1948-2016)

Glenn Frey was an American singer, songwriter, producer, and actor. He is best remembered for forming the famous rock band ‘Eagles’ in the early-1970s. As the founding member of the band, he played the guitar, piano, and keyboard. He was also one of the primary vocalists of the band and sang songs like ‘Take It Easy,’ ‘Tequila Sunrise,’ and ‘New Kid in Town’ among several other hits of ‘Eagles.’ Even as a child, he showed keen interest in music and took lessons on piano and guitar. Gradually, he entered the Detroit rock scene and formed bands like ‘Subterraneans,’ ‘Mushrooms,’ and ‘Heavy Metal Kids.’ In 1971, he formed the rock band ‘Eagles’ with Don Henley, Randy Meisner, and Bernie Leadon.

Sally Field (1946-)

Sally Field is an actress who is most remembered for her dramatic roles in both films and television. In her childhood and teenage years, she had to endure psychological and verbal abuse from her stepfather. She found her relief by getting involved in extracurricular activities at school, including drama. Aged 21, she was offered a leading role in the TV series ‘The Flying Nun’, a sitcom with a slightly far-fetched concept. To anyone her age, starring in a TV show would have been enough, but not for Field, who craved for roles with substance, displaying a maturity that belied her age. Twice in her career, Field made conscious efforts to break free of her typecast roles and succeeded in bagging exactly the kind of roles that she sought.

Laurene Powell Jobs (1963-)

Laurene Powell Jobs is an American businesswoman who founded Emerson Collective, an organization that advocates for policies in support of education and immigration reform, environmental conservation, and social justice. She is the co-founder of Terravera, a natural foods company, as well. She is also known as the widow of tech-wizard and co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs. Besides these, she is the co-founder of College Track, a nonprofit organization that offers comprehensive help to disadvantaged high school students – the ones who lack the resources but have the will to attain higher education.
