John F. Kennedy Jr. (1960-1999)

John Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr., was the youngest child and the only son of US President John F. Kennedy. Born just two weeks after his father was elected President of the United States and losing him when he was three days short of his third birthday, his life was full of twists, turns, and gossip that often accompanies children of famous people. Despite being born in a politically powerful and rich family and having a privileged upbringing, he never took anything in his life for granted and worked hard towards finding a niche for himself in society. He worked as a lawyer, journalist, and a magazine publisher and was a favourite subject for the paparazzi and popular media due to his lineage, good looks, and risk prone lifestyle.

Christina Applegate (1971-)

Christina Applegate is an award winning American actress and dancer. She played one of the main roles in the American situational comedy series ‘Married… With Children’, for which she gained much fame. The show, which aired for ten years, earned huge popularity throughout the US, and was also later broadcast in several other countries. She played a guest role in the famous American situational comedy series ‘Friends’. Her role won her an Emmy Award. She also earned nominations for the Golden Globe and the Tony Award. Applegate has appeared in several movies as well. She was seen in main roles in movies, such as ‘Grand Theft Parsons’ and ‘Vacations’.

Augusto Pinochet (1915-2006)

Augusto Pinochet was a military officer in Chile who led the U.S.-backed military coup that overthrew President Salvador Allende’s socialist government. He became the head of the subsequent military government, a role he retained for nearly two decades. While many characterize his government as fascist, others describe the regime as ultra-nationalistic and Pinochet as a despot. His rule was characterized by widespread arrests and torture of liberal dissenters as well as the development of Chile’s free market economy. While his privatization policies did provoke a revival of Chile’s floundering economy, they also are believed to have greatly increased economic inequality.

Joel Kinnaman (1979-)

Joel Kinnaman is a Swedish-American actor best known for appearing in the Swedish film ‘Easy Money’ and for playing Frank Wagner in the ‘Johan Falk’ movie series. Currently, he stars in a lead role in the Netflix science fiction drama series ‘Altered Carbon’. Born to a therapist mother and a military man father, Kinnaman entered the show business by chance. He spent a year in Texas as a high school exchange student. An avid traveler, he did various jobs after school to finance his world trips. He travelled in South America and Southeast Asia for two years before beginning his career as an actor. Since then, he has worked in a number of films and continues to do so with sheer dedication.

Joe DiMaggio (1914-1999)

Joe DiMaggio is, till date, widely regarded as one of the most popular basketball players of all time. He was an iconic figure, who enthralled baseball lovers and created history with his 56-game hitting streak. The New York Times reported this particular achievement as ‘perhaps the most enduring record in sports’. Known for his reserved nature, DiMaggio was devoted to the sport and played with commitment, refinement and dignity. He began his Major League career with the New York Yankees and played a pivotal role in securing the World Series titles for the team nine times in the 13 big league seasons that he played with them. He epitomised the symbol of a sports hero during his years of success.

Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919)

Andrew Carnegie, a well-known Scottish-American, who rose from a life of utter poverty to become an industrialist, is considered as the second richest man in history. He built his fortunes mainly through the steel industry. He was a great visionary who could foresee and encash the business opportunities well in time thereby becoming the leader of the American steel industry. He built the Carnegie Steel Company which was the largest and most profitable industrial enterprise in the world in 1890s. Later, he sold it to J.P. Morgan who created U.S. Steel. He later turned towards philanthropy and did significant work in the field of education and culture.
