Jodie Foster (1962-)

Alicia Christian Foster, popularly known as Jodie Foster, is an American actress, director and producer. She has won many BAFTAs, Academy Awards and Golden Globes in a career that spanned from her childhood to maturity. She started her Hollywood career at the tender age of three since her mother was a film producer. She appeared in television commercials, sporadic episodes of television series and television movies, initially. Being fluent in French and living in France for many years only helped Foster to make her mark in the French cinema and French music circuit through singing.

Meg Ryan (1961-)

Meg Ryan is an American actress and producer. She is best known for playing romantic characters on screen. While still in college, Meg decided to earn some extra money through acting and adopted her maternal grandmother’s maiden name ‘Ryan’ as her screen name. She began with television commercials and gradually made her way into audience’s hearts with her performance in several hit romantic-comedy films like ‘When Harry Met Sally,’ ‘Sleepless in Seattle,’ ‘French Kiss,’ and ‘You’ve Got Mail’ in the 1990s. Since the characters that she portrayed in these movies exhibited sparkling nature and cheerful persona, she came to be regarded as America’s sweetheart.

Jack Dorsey (1976-)

Jack Dorsey is an American businessman who co-founded Twitter. Twitter, an online social networking service that enables users to send and read short messages called ‘tweets,’ is one of the ten most-visited websites in the world. Dorsey is also the founder of ‘Square,’ a mobile payments company that markets several software and hardware payments products. A computer programmer by profession, he became interested in dispatch routing while still in his teens. He loved computers from as long as he can remember and spent hours studying the IBM computer model available at that time.

Indira Gandhi (1917-1984)

Popularly known as the ‘Iron Lady of India,’ Indira Gandhi earned a formidable reputation across the globe as a stateswoman. Her sheer sense of politics and exceptional skills catapulted her position in the Indian politics, so much so that she went on to become the first woman elected to lead a democratic country. Till date, she is the only woman to have held the office in India. Born in a politically influential dynasty and growing up in an intense political atmosphere, Indira Gandhi had learned the trick of the trade quite early in her life. She possessed an authoritarian streak and became the central figure of the ‘Indian National Congress’ party, post her father’s death. She was known for her political ruthlessness and extraordinary centralization of power.

Charles I of England (1600-1649)

Charles I of England was the king of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 1625 to 1649. He was an authoritarian who believed in the divine right of kings, and desired to govern his territories according to his own rules and regulations. He had no regard for the views and opinions of his subjects who began to loathe him for his autocracy and dictatorship. He was also a very religious man who supported high church ecclesiastics and thus earned the mistrust of reformed groups, such as the Puritans and Calvinists. Charles was born as the second son of King James VI of Scotland. Since he had an elder brother, it was not expected that he would inherit the throne after his father.

Adam Driver (1983-)

Adam Driver is an American actor, best known for portraying ‘Kylo Ren,’ the main villain in the latest ‘Star Wars’ films, ‘The Force Awakens’ and ‘The Last Jedi.’ Born and raised in California, Adam was not too keen on a career in acting initially. Following the 9/11 attacks, he joined the ‘United States Marine Corps.’ He was later honorably discharged, following an accident. He then enrolled at the ‘Juilliard School’ to learn acting and soon started performing in ‘Broadway’ and ‘Off-Broadway’ productions in New York. He occasionally worked as a busboy and waiter to support himself. He made his screen debut with his appearance in the pilot of the 2010 series ‘The Wonderful Maladys.’

Allison Janney (1959-)

Allison Brooks Janney is a famous American actress. She has played many major as well as supporting roles, both in television as well as cinema. She became well-known for various TV programs, the most popular among them being ‘The West Wing.’ It was an American political drama television series which was created by Aaron Sorkin and was broadcast from 1999 to 2006. The series, which was primarily set in the West Wing of the White House, was about the fictitious administration of Josiah Bartlet, a fictitious president. Janney’s role as the Press Secretary of the President was hugely appreciated, for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award.
