Zac Efron (1987-)

There have been many teen stars, but one of the few who have stood out in the recent years is Zac Efron. Interested in acting from a young age, he was an active participant in his high school’s stage productions. After several guest appearances on television, it just took one television movie to change Efron’s career graph and establish him as a star. The movie was The Disney Channel’s tween pop cultural phenomenon ‘High School Musical’ and it catapulted Efron to great fame and popularity. From a small start in the first movie, to the successful trilogy, ‘High School Musical’ won rave reviews for the actor and also got him critical appreciation.

Jean-Claude Van Damme (1960-)

Jean-Claude Van Damme’s movies stirred countless martial artists around the world. Before Muay Thai or kickboxing found its place in the world of martial arts, Van Damme had already brought to the forefront these martial arts styles and used them in his movies. Movies like ‘Bloodspot’ and ‘Kickboxer’ may not have been very high-budget films, but they still went on to earn millions at the box-office worldwide and most- definitely went on to inspire a generation of martial artists and actors. Many of his friends and followers found it hard to believe that a thin, scrawny child could grow up to become a martial arts superstar in Hollywood and would eventually earn the nickname, ‘Muscles from Brussels’.

Chuck Berry (1926-2017)

Chuck Berry or Charles Edward Anderson Berry was an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. He is known as the ‘Father of Rock-n-Roll’ and is regarded as one of the most popular and influential performers in the ‘rhythm-and-blues’ and ‘rock-and-roll’ music in the era of 1950s, ’60s and ’70s. His distinctive sounds from the guitar, vivid descriptions of teenage life, and the melodic virtuosities of the piano player (Johnnie Johnson) have served as a source of inspiration for every rock-and-roll band for more than half a century.

Tyler Posey (1991-)

Tyler Garcia Posey is a well-known American actor who appears in both movies and television. He is best known for his work in the MTV television series, ‘Teen Wolf’, which started airing from 2011. The series is about a young boy Scott (played by Tyler) who gets bitten by a werewolf. He then has to cope with his new life and take precautions not to cause harm to his friends and family. He has co-starred with the popular ‘Twilight’ star Booboo Stewart as well, in the film ‘White Frog’, a 2012 American film based on family, friendship, and love.

Freida Pinto (1984-)

Freida Pinto is an internationally known Indian actress, who rose to prominence with her very first film, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’. Raised in Mumbai in an educated middleclass family, she dreamed of becoming an actress since she was five years old; but was compelled to continue her studies until she graduated at the age of twenty. Thereafter, she joined Elite Model Management and began her modeling career. Concurrently, she started giving auditions for film and television roles; but failed to grab a single role until she was chosen to host ‘Full Circle’ in 2007. In the following year, she underwent a six months long gruelling audition with Danny Boyle, and was eventually selected for the role of Latika in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.

Chuck Lorre (1952-)

Chuck Lorre is an accomplished, award-winning American TV writer, producer, and composer. His TV career, spanning over two decades, encompasses creating, writing, and producing several popular American sitcoms, such as ‘Two and a Half Men’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory.’ His passion for music led him to drop out of the ‘State University of New York’ (SUNY Potsdam). Soon, he forayed as a guitarist and songwriter and toured across the US. He wrote several pop songs, including Deborah Harry’s radio hit ‘French Kissin’ in the USA.’ He switched his focus to TV during the early 1980s, which saw him penning down animation scripts such as the ‘DiC’ version of ‘Heathcliff.’

Pierre Trudeau (1919-2000)

Pierre Trudeau was one of the iconic leaders of Canada who brought forth a new verve of energy in the country. It was his charismatic personality coupled with revolutionary ideas and beliefs that helped him climb up the ladder to serve the most prestigious and responsible chair of the country. The youth and the teenagers were so throttled by his energetic disposition that they called themselves ‘Trudeaumania’. He was the front runner of politics of his time who promised to bring about a generational change. Thanks to his radical views and opinions, it was under his leadership and guidance that rapid transformations dawned upon the social and the political panorama of the country helping it move forward.
