Angela Lansbury (1925-)

Angela Lansbury is an Oscar-nominated actress, who has been equally successful on stage, in films, and on television. She is a British-American actress with Irish roots. Moving to the United States in 1940 to escape the German bombarding of Britain during the ‘Second World War,’ she supported her family by doing petty jobs before being cast in major roles in films and on stage. Even before turning 21, she received two ‘Academy Award’ nominations for her performance in ‘Gaslight’ and ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray,’ becoming the youngest actress to do so. She failed to receive an ‘Emmy Award’ despite being nominated for 12 years straight, but has won six ‘Golden Globe’ awards and five ‘Tony Awards.’

Oscar Wilde (1854-1900)

Oscar Wilde was a noted Irish playwright, novelist, poet and essayist, born in the middle of the nineteenth century into an intellectual family. While studying in Trinity, Dublin, he was influenced by the aesthetic movement, which advocated that art must be practiced only for the sake of art and soon became one of its ardent followers. Although his very first book, ‘Poems’ established him as an upcoming poet, he tasted real success only in the last decade of his relatively short life. But by then, despite being married with two sons, he had become entangled in a homosexual relationship and when that came into light, he was sentenced to two-year rigorous imprisonment.

 

John Mayer (1977-)

John Clayton Mayer is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. Famous for his guitar skills and artistic pursuit of classy pop-rock songs, John has earned major chart success in the US and other countries. Known for his solo career as well as his career as part of the ‘John Mayer Trio,’ this knowledgeable musician has millions of fans across the globe. He picked up the guitar at the age of 13 and took lessons for two years. Thanks to his strong perseverance and determination, he started a career in music. She is also known for appearing in the titular role in the ‘Hailey Dean Mystery’ series. Born to a department store buyer and a kindergarten teacher, Martin started her acting career at the young age of seven when her aunt, who served as a nanny for actor Michael Landon’s kids, helped her land a guest spot in the 1982 series ‘Father Murphy’.

Nico, born as Christa Päffgen, was a German actress, model, singer, songwriter and musician. She was known for her roles in numerous films, including Andy Warhol’s ‘Chelsea Girls’ and Federico Fellini’s ‘La Dolce Vita.’ Considered as one of the most charming figures of her era, the German beauty was also known for her romantic links with numerous men. Born in Nazi-controlled Germany, Nico was raised by her mother after her father’s tragic and untimely death. In 1946, she moved to Berlin with her family and by the age of 15, she had started work as a model in a local fashion house.

 

Bryce Harper (1992-)

Bryce Harper is a well-known American baseball right-fielder who plays for the Washington Nationals of the Major League Baseball. He was chosen by the team during the 2010 Major League Baseball draft. In his stint with them so far, he has proved his worth as an efficient player. He was ranked as a top-3 prospect by the prospect watchers, such as Baseball America, MLB.com, and Prospectus. She has even sung her own songs for the soundtrack of the movie. Kim did a degree in Broadcasting from Dongduk University and went on to study hotel management in Switzerland. She initially entered show business as a model for various brands and soon became a sought after personality in the film and television industry of South Korea.
