Jawaharlal Nehru (1889-1964)

An iconic politician and a revolutionary, Jawaharlal Nehru is widely admired for his astute idealism and statesmanship. Endowed with a wonderful political outlook and futuristic thinking, Nehru in his lifetime went on to become a paramount leader of the Indian independence movement. He was undoubtedly the central figure of the 20th century Indian politics and contributed much to the nation both before and after Independence. With Gandhi as his mentor, Nehru worked his way to become an important leader of the Indian National Congress. He was the first to call for complete independence from the British. Upon achieving independence, Nehru became the first Prime Minister of the nation.

Charles, Prince of Wales (1948-)

Prince Charles, the oldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, is the heir apparent to the British throne. His mother is the queen of 16 of the 53 member states in the Commonwealth of Nations, and also the head of the Commonwealth and supreme governor of the Church of England. Charles became the heir apparent in 1952 when his grandfather King George VI died and Elizabeth ascended the throne. Being Queen Elizabeth’s oldest son, Charles became the heir apparent to the British throne and received the title ‘Duke of Cornwall.’ He was created Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester in 1958, making him the first Prince of Wales since 1936.

Josh Duhamel (1972-)

Josh Duhamel is an American actor and former fashion model. He is best known for playing ‘Danny McCoy’ in the American comedy-drama television series ‘Las Vegas.’ A football player for his university team, Duhamel wanted to be a professional sportsman but became a movie and television star instead. He also spent time on studying biology to become a dentist and tried his hand at entrepreneurship as well. He acquired a bachelor’s degree in biology to achieve his dream of becoming a dentist. But he could not get admission to study dentistry as his grades were not good enough to land him a place in any college. He did various odd jobs, such as joining a construction company to earn a living.

Condoleezza Rice (1954-)

Condoleezza Rice is an American diplomat who served as the 66th United States Secretary of State. Often considered a role model for other African American women striving to reach great professional heights, Rice is the first African American woman to ever hold the position of the United States Secretary of States. A high achiever, she had served as the National Security Advisor during the firm term of President George Bush, becoming the first woman to do so. As a young girl growing up in the racially segregated Alabama, a political career was the last thing on her mind. She was musically inclined from childhood and took classes in ballet and piano with the aim of becoming a professional pianist.

Olga Kurylenko (1979-)

Olga Konstantinovna, popularly called as Olga Kurylenko, is a French model and actress, best known for portraying sensual characters in James Bond films. Her steamy cinematic roles and luminous beauty have managed to grab the attention of the male audience since the beginning of her career. Travis Barker (1975-)

Not everyone with the drum sticks in the hands can boast of playing the instrument like Travis Barker! Recognized as ‘Punk’s first superstar drummer’ by Rolling Stone magazine, he is the immaculate drumming star of the era, who reaffirmed the status of the music of the drums. A prodigious child, Barker’s association with the drums has been since he was four-years-old. As time passed, he only mastered the art and polished his skills to become at par with the world’s best drummers. Barker’s first outing as a drummer was for Feeble, a school band. Joseph McCarthy (1908-1957)

Joseph Raymond McCarthy was a Republican U.S. Senator who represented Wisconsin for 10 years from 1947 to 1957. A highly ambitious politician he would go to any length to defame his opponents in order to gain an upper hand. In fact, it was his anti-communist practices and the habit of accusing his opponents of wrongdoings that led to the coining of the term ‘McCarthyism’. He began his anti-communist tactics during the period when the fear of widespread communist subversion was at its peak by fuelling rumours that there were a large number of communist spies inside the U.S. government.
