Walt Disney (1901-1996)

Walt Disney was a showman in the truest sense of the word. A pioneering force in the world of animation, he transformed the entertainment industry completely, with his innovative ideas and creative visions. In his over four-decade long career, he changed the way the world looked at animation and was solely responsible for ushering the golden age of animation. Starting off as a mere animator, he soon turned into a business magnate, eventually becoming a major figure in the American animation industry. He co-founded the Walt Disney Production, along with his brother, which went on to become one of the best motion picture producers of the world. The cartoon characters that we love today are the brainchild of this artistic inventor.

Conan Gray (1998-)

Conan Gray is a famous American YouTuber and vlogger. Gray mainly uploads original and cover songs which he shares with his fans. He started his YouTube channel in 2013 and named it ‘ConanXCanon’. Initially, he had little idea that his music videos would be so appreciated by people. Gray has the habit of putting different type of content on his YouTube page. His main content generally focuses around the songs that he sings. But he also uploads vlogs and speaks to his fans about different things. One would find Gray speaking about his clothes, giving a house tour, his favourite music, movies, or even describing his first day in college. Gray’s voice is refreshing and laudable due to which his fan following grows each day. He also has huge fan base on Instagram.

Strom Thurmond (1902-2003)

Strom Thurmond was an American politician, who represented the state of South Carolina in the United States senate for 48 years. He also ran for the chair of the President of United States of America as a candidate for the Democratic Party. Born and brought up in Edgefield, South Carolina, he worked as a farmer and a teacher and later enlisted in the US military to fight for his country in the Second World War. Once the war was over, he ran as the governor of South Carolina and won the elections in 1946 and two years later, he ran for presidency from the Democratic Party. He was highly progressive as a governor earlier and strongly advocated the uplifting of the black community and also the civil rights in general.

Little Richard (1932-2020)

Little Richard, born as Richard Wayne Penniman, is a musician who defined the rock and roll music scenario in the America of the 1950s with his flamboyant style, sexy lyrics, and dynamic music. He was one of the first male artists to unabashedly wear makeup on stage and was famous for his androgynous dance moves. He revolutionized the music world by introducing a certain kind of freedom characterized by the open expression of sexuality and rebellion. His music marked by loud screams, whooping sounds and sexually suggestive lyrics set the trend which several other rock and roll musicians tried to emulate over the years. He grew up malnourished in a poor neighbourhood and sought solace in church activities and prayers.

Werner Heisenberg (1901-1976)

Werner Heisenberg was a German scientist and philosopher who was influential in the research of quantum mechanics in the mid-1900s. His work overlapped with the controversial political history of 20th-century Germany; his substantial theories in physics were published in the 1920s and 1930s. During the WWII he made important contribution in the development of nuclear reactor and he was also the head of nuclear research during the Nazi period. He was instrumental in rebuilding the scientific community in West Germany after war. He proposed a model of atomic nucleus which consisted of protons the positively charged particles and some particles which possessed no charge or the neutrons. His discovery earned him the prestigious Nobel Prize in Physics.

Margaret Cho (1968-)

Comedy was a something this stand-up comedian developed and used during teenage years to deal with bullying. Interesting, isn’t it as to how Margaret Cho journey with comedy began! Inspired by her father’s Korean joke books, Cho began performing at the tender age of 14. Soon she moved to Los Angeles to seek better opportunities and appeared in a series of films in minor roles. She later appeared in the short-lived sitcom, ‘All-American Girl’, about a Korean-American family. She has appeared in numerous comedy specials, films, has gone on a series of stand-up tours and also launched her own album. She is also an acclaimed author and has authored numerous books including, ‘I’m The One That I Want’ and ‘I Have Chosen to Stay and Fight’.
