Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919)

Theodore Roosevelt was one of the most eminent politicians of United States who went on to serve as the 26th President of the country. It would be surprising to know that during his early days, Roosevelt primarily remained sick with asthma attack and chronic illness and was advised to take up desk job to live a healthy and long life. Interestingly, he lived up till 61 years of age and all through remained hyperactive with his political pursuits. Had it not been for his willingness to go beyond the boundaries America would not have had its first ever truly modern President.

Marla Maples (1963-)

Marla Ann Maples is an actress and TV personality from the USA. She is also recognized as the former wife of US President Donald Trump. She has done several movies like ‘Happiness’, ‘Switching Lanes’, ‘Black and White’, ‘Loving Annabelle’, ‘Richie Rich’s Christmas Wish’, ‘A Christmas Too Many’, ‘For Richer or Poorer’, ‘Something Wilder’, ‘A Sight for Sore Eyes’ and ‘Two of Hearts’, to name a few. On television, Maples has appeared on the shows ‘Designing Women’, ‘The Nanny’, ‘Dancing with the Stars’, ‘Spin City’ and ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’. As a host, she has co-hosted the 1996 and 1997 Miss Universe Pageant as well as the 1997 Miss USA Pageant.

John Gotti (1940-2002)

John Joseph Gotti, Jr. was an American mafia and the head of one of the most powerful American mafia families – Gambino. He was constantly involved with murders, conspiracy to commit murders, loan sharking, heroin dealing, racketeering, obstruction of justice, illegal gambling, committing underground crimes, tax evasion, etc. Gotti was born in a poor family of many siblings in New York and therefore turned to petty crimes from a very young age. As he grew up and made more contacts in the underworld, he became one of the proteges of Gambino family and after leading a series of organized crimes, he was made the head of the family. He was soon known for his outspoken and ostentatious persona all over America.

John Cleese (1939-)

John Cleese is an English actor, producer, screenwriter, and comedian. The most revered figure in British comedy, he is perhaps one of the few comedians to come up with original, innovative slapstick antics and puerile character sketches. A law graduate from ‘Downing College,’ Cambridge University, Cleese became part of the famed ‘Footlights Dramatic Club’ at the university. ‘Footlights’ provided him the platform to showcase his comedic talent and he soon became part of the immensely successful ‘Footlights’ revue, ‘Cambridge Circus.’ This helped him launch his career in comedy. He later became part of the legendary comedy group ‘Monty Python.’

Sylvia Plath (1932-1963)

Sylvia Plath has been hailed as one of the most renowned and influential poets of the twentieth century.Born in the United States of America in the early 1930s, she has been credited with advancing the genre of confessional poetry. She was also equally famous for her short stories and novel. She started writing early in her life and had her first poem published at the age of eight, her first national publication at the age of eighteen, and was selected a guest editor of ‘Mademoiselle’ at twenty. However, she failed to accept rejections in a healthy way and at the age of twenty-three unsuccessfully tried to commit suicide. Nonetheless, she successfully completed her studies and went to England, where he met and married Ted Hughes.

Lonzo Ball (1997-)

Lonzo Ball is a well-known American basketball player. He is a basketball genius and his accuracy in throwing the ball remains unmatched. Lonzo is also known for the energy he brings to the game. He played with the ‘UCLA Bruins’ in college before he was selected for the ‘Los Angeles Lakers’ of the ‘National Basketball Association.’ He was selected in the ‘2017 NBA draft.’ He was the second overall pick. He was also selected for the ‘2017 NFL.’ He was the third pick for the ‘Lakers’ after D ‘Angelo Rusello and Brandon Ingram. Currently, he is the point guard in the ‘Lakers.’ Amongst his numerous awards and honors, he won ‘Mr. Basketball USA’ in 2016.

James Cook (1728-1779)

James Cook was a famous British explorer who discovered New Zealand and surveyed and mapped features and coastlines, especially the Pacific Ocean in great details and on a scale hitherto not achieved. His adventures on his ship, the ‘HMS Endeavor’ and his discoveries have steered generations of voyagers, explorers and cartographers. Born in the Scottish countryside, Cook began his tryst with the ‘unknown’ when he started off as the Captain of the Royal Navy and took command of the first scientific manned expedition to the Pacific. He returned victorious, discovering New Zealand and the Great Barrier Reef of Australia; the two places still considered some of the most dangerous areas ever navigated by a human.
